A French company specializing in airport architecture and engineering has said it did not commit to providing US$2 billionfor a megaproject to build a new international airport outside of Ho Chi Minh City.

 VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of Transport plans to build Long Thanh into a transit airport to compete with the other regional airports. However, it has been warned that the plan is unfeasible.

HCM City authorities have sent a written request of the constituents of Tan Binh district, HCM City to the Ministry of Transport on the construction of the Long Thanh international airport.

It is still unclear if the State evaluation council on the Long Thanh international airport would present the project at the upcoming National Assembly’s session in May 2014, because the investor still cannot clarify how the project would be funded.
