HCM City Vice Chairman Le Hoa Binh has asked local agencies to urgently work on strategies for Covid-19 prevention and control and economic recovery after September 15.
Economic and medical experts in HCMC are in the process of studying and designing the Covid-19 green pass, said municipal chairman Phan Van Mai.
HCM City Chairman Phan Van Mai said there are about 2 million households with 5.3 million people in need of welfare support in HCM City.
Vietnam recorded 14,208 new COVID-19 cases, including 15 imported ones, on September 7, bringing the national count to 550,996, the Ministry of Health said.
HCM City has more than 87,000 Covid-19 patients who have completed quarantine, including 54,000 people of working age.

HCM City detected 54,498 Covid-19 cases in the community through rapid tests on August 23-27.
HCM City plans to allocate VND4,500 billion from the city budget for 12 key irrigation projects between 2021 and 2025.
