The Ministry of Health on Tuesday asked vaccination facilities and health agencies to quickly complete the database on people vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of this month so that they could get the vaccine passport.

The Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that more than 1,000 people were granted electronic vaccine passports for business trips or tourism after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine at Bach Mai Hospital.

Deputy Prime Ministers Vu Duc Dam and Pham Binh Minh have encouraged overseas Vietnamese to return to celebrate Tet.

Vietnam is temporarily recognising COVID-19 vaccination certificate/passport forms of 72 countries and territories that have been officially introduced to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the current regulations of the Vietnamese Government, foreigners or Vietnamese who want to enter the country must have been fully vaccinated (two shots) and must have a negative PCR test certificate.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has sent a report to the Ministry of Transport on the application of vaccine passports for people entering Vietnam.

Although “vaccine passports” are yet to become official, airlines are nonetheless preparing for the resumption of international flights based on their introduction.
