Many international airlines such as Air France, Aeroflot, British Airways and Korean Air have implemented the new policy for heavier baggage.

To comply with safety standards and to make it easier for passengers on connected flights, Vietnam Airlines have also employed the new policy on baggage.

Each piece of baggage that is checked in must not exceed 23kg for Economy Class and Premium Economy Class or 32kg for Business Class.

On Hanoi-HCM City route, passengers of Premium Economy Class can bring a 32kg baggage. For hand baggage, the maximum combined weight has been increased from 7kg to 12kg for Economy Class and 14kg to 18kg for Business Class and Premium Economy.

Economy Class passengers between Europe and Australia from August 1 to December 31 will be able to bring an additional 23kg baggage for free. During this time, Vietnam Airlines will reduce baggage fees by 50%.

The new policy is applied for tickets issued or exchanged after August 1.
