Labour accidents plague HCM City construction sites

The accident happened at 2.00pm, when three workers were digging a pit for a local bridge project.

Local residents tried to rescue victims from the ruins, yet two of them were killed in the collapse.

The bridge was built with a donation of VND700 million (US$30,000) to replace an old suspension bridge which was usually flooded in the rainy season.

This is the second accident at bridge construction sites in Vietnam in the past two days.

On Wednesday, one worker was killed and three others injured at the site for the Hoa Binh 2 Bridge over the Da River in northern Hoa Binh Province. — VNS
