In this city, students who win the first prize in international competition will be awarded up to VND500 million (nearly US$25,000). The winners of second and third prizes will receive VND400 (nearly $20,000) and VND300 million (nearly $15,000), respectively.

The prize money for students who win the first, second and third prize in contests of the Southeast Asian region will be VND 300 million, VND 200 and VND 100 million.

The prize money for the first, second and third prize at national competitions will be VND 50 million, VND 40 million and VND 30 million.

The northern province of Bac Ninh also leads the country for rewarding outstanding students.

Students from high schools and secondary schools in Bac Ninh who win the first prize or gold medal of international competitions will receive VND 500 million. The prize money will be VND150 million for the first prize at Southeast Asian contests and VND 50 million for the national contests.

The winners of second prize (silver medal) of international competition are granted VND300 million. It will be VND80 million for the second prize winners of Southeast Asian and national competitions.

The winners of third prize (bronze medal) in the international competition are rewarded with VND200 million. The bonus will be VND 50 million for the same prize at the regional level and VND 15 for the national level.

Students who take the fourth prize or a certificate of merit of international competition will receive VND100 million and it is VND30 million for regional-level contests.

Bac Ninh students who are official members of the Vietnamese team participating in international competitions will also be awarded VND 50 million or VND 20 million for members of the national teams to regional contests.

The northern province of Vinh Phuc also offers very high prize money for outstanding students with VND 400, VND 300 and VND 200 million, respectively, for those who win gold, silver and bronze medals at international level.

The northern province of Tuyen Quang has recently issued regulations on rewards for students who win prizes at international competitions.

Specifically, students who win prizes of international Olympiad competitions or the world vocational skills competition will be rewarded with VND 250 million for the gold medal; VND 200 million for the silver medal, VND 150 million for the bronze medal, VND 50 million for the consolation prize.

For the international scientific and technical research competitions, the rewards for the winners of the Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals and Consolation Prize are VND 100 million, VND 75 million, VND 50 million and VND 25 million, respectively.

At the contests of Asia and Southeast Asia, the students who take the first prize will receive VND 150 million, the second prize VND100 million, the third prize VND 70 million dong, and the consolation prize VND 50 million.

 

If the winners are an ethnic minority or a person with disabilities, the prize money will be 1.5 times higher than the above levels.

For Vietnam’s largest metropolis – HCM City - the rewards for students who win prizes in international Olympiad competitions, international scientific and technical research competitions and other international contests are: Gold medal - VND200 million; Silver Medal - VND160 million; Bronze medal - VND120 million; Consolation prizes, special prizes and others - VND 50 million.

In Hanoi, students who win the gold medal of International Olympiad Competitions in 2021 are awarded VND20 million (around $1,000).

According to the Vietnamese State’s regulations, students who win prizes in the international Olympiad competitions, international scientific and technical research competitions, and the world vocational skills competition are rewarded according to the following levels:

Gold medal or first prize: VND 55 million;

Silver medal or second prize: VND 35 million;

Bronze medal or third prize: VND 25 million;

Consolation prize: VND 10 million.

Students who win prizes in the Asian Olympiad Competitions and Asian vocational skills exams will be rewarded as followed:

Gold Medal: VND35 million;

Silver Medal: VND25 million;

Bronze Medal: VND10 million;

Consolation Prize: VND 8 million.
