Today, June 17, the delegation led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, visited and inspected the High Command of the Coast Guard Region 3. Major General Le Xuan Thanh, Commander of the Region 3 reported the results of implementing the assigned tasks in the first 6 months of 2020.

Accordingly, the unit has deployed synchronous solutions, well performed the tasks of protecting sovereignty, maintaining security, order and safety at sea; receiving, investigating and handling 12 cases/12 ships having illegal acts of buying, selling or transporting goods at sea; coordinating with functional forces to detect and handle 7 cases/7 subjects who had illegal trading, possession of narcotics; propagating, disseminating and educating the law to people; seek and rescue tasks; protecting natural resources, preventing pollution of the marine environment, doing well the program "The Coast Guard accompanies fishermen"; calling for and disseminating information to nearly 300 fishing vessels, over 2,200 fishermen doing fishing on the sea to not encroach on foreign waters ...

Praising the results achieved by the unit on all aspects in the first 6 months of 2020, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong also requested the High Command of the Coast Guard Region 3 to continue to strictly maintain the regime of patrol to control and protect sovereignty of the sea and islands, ready to participate in rescue work; assessing the criminal situation, closely coordinating with the relevant agencies and local functional agencies in the prevention of smuggling and commercial fraud; focusing on training, improving professional skills for cadres and soldiers; strictly maintaining the orderly institutions, building a strong unit.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Tan Cuong also suggested the Coast Guard Region 3 continue to innovate, improve the efficiency of the task of diffusing legal information for people and fishermen at sea; do well the public affairs work, closely stick with fishermen, protect fishermen at sea, deserve a solid fulcrum for fishermen.
