In Quan Hau Town, Quang Ninh District, the provincial police and market surveillance on Saturday stopped and inspected a truck towing a trailer driven by 43-year-old Huynh Van Thao from Binh Dinh Province’s Phu My District.
Up to 3,108 bottles of liquor valued at a total of VND1.5 billion (US$64,740) were found hided inside a secret compartment.
The shipment included 1,188 bottles of Black Nikka Special, 1,740 bottles of Black Clear and 180 bottles of Jonnie Walker Double Black with labels claiming their origins to be from Japan and Scotland, respectively. Driver Thao could not show any certificate or receipt proving the shipment’s legitimacy, however.
