Bộ GTVT yêu cầu hạn chế tối đa số lượng chuyến bay đến Nội Bài

The Ministry of Transport has received the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam’s recommendation to stop passenger transport between localities that are implementing social distancing under the Prime Minister’s Directive 16.

The Ministry of Transport has asked the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to consider current regulations and closely follow the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control and promptly work with Vietnamese airlines to transport passengers in accordance with the epidemic situation.

The Ministry of Transport noted that priority should be given to serving official duties and disease-prevention tasks, while minimizing the number of flights to Noi Bai airport in Hanoi.

For the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi air route, based on actual demand, the number of round trips could be reduced to less than two per day.

Previously, the ministry issued the dispatch No. 7143/BGTVT-VT dated July 21, 2021 on the control of commercial flights between HCM City and other cities and provinces amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Specifically, flights between Can Tho – Hanoi and Phu Quoc – Hanoi were suspended, while only two return flights were operated between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi per day, starting from 0am on July 22 until further notice.

Due to the complicated developments of the pandemic, the number of flights between HCM City and Hanoi has further reduced since July 24.
