The chill has resulted from a bone-chilling cold front which is affecting the whole northern region of Vietnam.

The snow started appearing in Mau Son early this morning, January 8.

The Mau Son Tourist Centre is also facing snow, so visitors have been warned to keep warm enough to visit the area. Due to snow, local roads are quite slippery and people need to be careful.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the chilly cold weather would spread to the central region of Vietnam from this evening.

Hanoi’s lowest temperature today would be eight degrees centigrade.
