At a small coffee shop on Hoang Dao Thuy Street, Hanoi, Thu Uyen, a 2nd year student of the Hanoi University and her friends were visiting two websites - www.vihanhphucmoinguoi.vn and www. www.hanhphucmoinguoi.com.

These are the websites of the "For Everyone's Happiness" exhibition, which aim at providing information and raising awareness of human rights among the people, officials and especially the law enforcement team.

This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and also aiming to implement the Government and the Ministry of Information and Communications’ policies on digital transformation, the exhibition was organized online rather than directly as before.

The exhibition introduces to the public documents reflecting the value of human rights ideology in the Vietnamese feudal dynasties. These documents were selected from the collection of woodblocks and documents of the Nguyen Dynasty – Vietnam’s first world documentary heritage recognized by the UNESCO on July 31, 2009.

Through the collection, annotation and systematic translation of documents and images, the exhibition introduces to visitors Vietnam’s efforts and achievements in ensuring and promoting human rights, contributing to raising awareness of human rights among the people, officials and especially the law enforcement forces.

From the data sources and photos of the State Records and Archives Bureau, the Standing Office of Human Rights and professional and amateur photographers throughout the country, the Organizing Board selected 200 photos and documents that meet three factors: (1) the scientific feature, representing rights; (2) the artistic feature, expressing the feelings of happiness and (3) technical factor to ensure resolution and effects.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao presented the People's Committee of Quang Nam province with photos and documents.

The 200 photos and documents are annotated in Vietnamese and English, with four themes: 1 - ancient documents reflecting human rights ideology in the feudal dynasties of Vietnam. 2 - documents on achievements in securing and promoting human rights in Vietnam since 1945. 3 - Vietnam guarantees human rights in the COVID-19 pandemic. 4 - Quang Nam - innovation and development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao said that the online exhibition also aims to promote the image of a Vietnam rich in humanistic traditions, a Vietnam responsible to the people and the international community to a larger number of domestic and foreign visitors in a more vivid and effective way than the traditional form.

A ministerial-level study entitled "Strengthening the role of media institutions in the protection of human rights and citizenship in Vietnam” shows that, only when the awareness of officials, State employees, officials and the people on the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on human rights is enhanced, they will know how to select information on social networking sites.

Therefore, the promotion of propaganda and raising awareness of the people about human rights will bring about positive effect, easier to implement than preventing and controlling information on social networks in the age of information technology.

In order to propagate, educate and promote human rights in Vietnam in line with the current situation, besides traditional press, the application of internet utilities and other mass media will make information closer, more alive and pervasive.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons why an exhibition on a seemingly unattractive topic has attracted the attention of young people like Thu Uyen.
