The Good Ship Contest - the Ship Training Festival is one of the major political missions and an annual mission of the Coast Guard Region 1. The event aims to improve the combat readiness capacity, combat training, professional qualifications and organize the implementation of training tasks, ensuring technical for the unit.

Through this event, the High Command of Coast Guard Region 1 can assess the essence of basic training, in-depth mastery in the exploitation and use of weapons, technical equipment of soldiers and the results of the implementation of breakthrough contents on training, technical assurance in 2020. On that basis, it can help the Party Committee, leaders of the High Command of Coast Guard Region 1 as well as Party Committees and commanders at all levels to lead, direct and propose necessary solutions, renew content, improve the quality of combat training and technical assurance to well meet the requirements of assigned missions in the new situation.

At the end of the contest, the organizers awarded flags and the first prize to ship 8003 (Marine Team 111 - Squadron 11); flags and the second prize to ship 8004 (Squadron 11), flags and the third prize to ship 4036 (Marine Team 112 - Squadron 11); the First Prize of the Excellent Captain Competition to Dang Van Dung, captain of ship 8004; First prize in the contest for good political commissars for Lieutenant Pham Vu Hiep of ship 8004; the First prize for the Excellent Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Competition for Lieutenant Nguyen Huy Tam, Chief Electric and Mechanical Technician of ship 8003.
