Dong continuously posted status updates and a live stream on his Facebook during the 1,700 km journey, using his motorbike Yamaha Exciter 150.

Despite being hailed by many Facebook users, authorities have said that the achievement was only possible due to flouting road safety.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Quy, who works at Hanoi Traffic Police Division 1, said that Dong drove at 80-100 kilometres per hour on average on his trip.

This was really dangerous and was speeding.
