The monkeys harass a residential area in HCM City

The municipal Department of Forest Protection and authorities of Thanh Xuan Ward in District 12 have worked on the plan.

According to the locals, a group of around 15 monkeys regularly destroy and loot their houses.

The monkeys often come in the early morning or the afternoon. They jumped from house to house when they were chased, destroying flower pots, offering trays, and other items in the process.

The HCM City municipal Department of Forest Protection said that the animals belong to the long-tailed monkey species which reproduce dramatically, with 10 babies per couple every year.

This morning, January 13, around 10 monkeys jumped on the roof of a household in Thanh Xuan Ward and created chaos.

Authorities have planned to use traps to capture them. If this doesn’t work, tranquiliser guns will be used. After being caught, they will be sent to the wild animal rescue centre in Cu Chi District before being released to a forest. Dtinews
