Many people have been fascinated by the paintings on the electricity boxes on Nguyen Luong Bang, Ton Duc Thang and Tay Son streets.

The street artists started painting the electricity boxes in Dong Da District since May 24 and the project is expected to complete on June 4.

According to the artists, they used acrylic to decorate the boxes and so the final paintings will not be ruined by rain or heat.

The electricity boxes are often covered in leaflets and other advertisements. The painters have to remove the advertisement and the stains first.

The boxes in Dong Da District have the theme of Flowers and Streets, the images of various flowers and old Hanoi streets have been recreated on the boxes.

"I’ve stopped to take a look at the paintings on the boxes. They’re really beautiful," said Vu Quang Minh, a local on Ton Duc Thang Street.

The project aims to prevent people from littering, making graffiti on the electricity boxes.
