According to the Ministry of Health, by October 9, the country had administered more than 53.7 million doses of vaccines. In the first week of October 2021, more than 1 million doses of vaccine were administered every day.

From the last week of September to the first week of October 2021, the Ministry of Health received and distributed about 25 million doses of vaccine to provinces.

It is expected that from now until the end of October 2021, the Ministry of Health will receive and allocate more than 35 million vaccine doses to local governments. To ensure the quick and effective use of the vaccines, to rapidly increase the vaccination coverage to control the epidemic situation as soon as possible, the Ministry of Health has asked local authorities to view Covid-19 vaccination as the top priority in the current period.

In early October, the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (Ministry of Health) allocated 992,160 doses of Pfizer vaccine to local Centers for Disease Control, the police forces, the army and hospitals across the country.

So far, 55 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Vietnam,

Nearly 39 million adults, or 54.3 per cent of the country’s population, have received their first doses while 16 million people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Until now, eight out of 63 provinces and cities have vaccinated more than 90 per cent of the adult population with at least one shot.

Two other provinces have first-dose coverage of 70-80 per cent and four provinces with the coverage of 50-70 per cent.

Less than 50% of adults living in 49 other provinces have only had one shot so far.
