Top 10 cơ sở nghiên cứu của Việt Nam trong 4 lĩnh vực khoa học tự nhiên

Nature Index's assessment method is based on two indicators: AC (Article Count) - the number of scientific articles of the unit/country during the time frame, published in high-impact journals and FC (Fractional Count); and percentage of contributions by authors from that unit/country. If the article is written by 10 authors, each author will receive a 1/10 point.

In the period from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020, the number of AC articles in Vietnam was 74 and it was 15.27 for the number of FC articles. Of those, physical science accounted for the highest FC score with 9.77 points, followed by chemistry with 2.46 FC points, life science with 1.7 points, and earth science and environment with 1.8 points.

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) is still the leading unit in the list of institutions of higher education and domestic research institutes on scientific research with 33 AC points and 3.52 points FC.

Duy Tan University and Hanoi University of Technology ranked second and third. Phenikaa University - a young private university – stands at 4th place.

The remaining positions belong to the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education - Quy Nhon (ICISE); National University of Ho Chi Minh City; Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Vietnam (OUCRU); Hanoi National University; Hospital for Tropical Diseases (HCMC); Le Quy Don Technical University.

In terms of countries and territories, with data from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020, Vietnam ranks 53rd among countries and territories with the best published volume and quality in the world.

The US still held the top spot with 20081.59 FC points - 1.5 and 4.46 times higher than the second and third ranked countries, China and Germany, respectively.

In Southeast Asia, Singapore ranked 17th with FC point at 602.5, while Thailand was ranked 41st with an FC point of 47.4.

Nature Index selected 82 leading journals in the world from tens of thousands of prestigious international journals for ranking evaluation, belonging to four groups of fields: Physical Science, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, and Life Science.

According to Nature Research, Current Index is a ranking published every month, with articles published within a year from that month or earlier. It can therefore be understood that the rankings assess the degree of acceptance in international publications throughout the most recent year of a research unit or a country.
