Locally made bracelet devices to monitor people under quarantine
The price of a Made-in-Vietnam bracelet device to monitor quarantined people will be about VND800,000 (nearly $40). The battery on the device can run for 30 days.
The National Center for Technology for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has put into operation the quarantine management platform, which supports management of people under home quarantine. Monitoring is performed by face/voice recognition technology on a VHD application. People can also wear a quarantine monitoring bracelet if they do not use a mobile device.
The quarantine monitoring bracelet is one of Vietnam's latest technological solutions to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. This device has been piloted in many wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City.
HCMC has officially allowed F1 cases to quarantine at home since July 17. The new policy is implemented with modern technologies.
To prevent overloading at centralized quarantine facilities, the Ministry of Health has allowed people categorized as F1 cases (having close contact with Covid-19 patients) to be under home quarantine.
