The Ministry of Science and Technology will coordinate with Aus4Innovation, the Vietnam Club of Faculties-Institutes-Schools-Universities of ICT (FISU) and nearly 20 artificial intelligence (AI) development units to organize the Vietnam-Australia Online Forum on Artificial Intelligence.

This event will be held on October 27 to provide information about AI cooperation programs between the two countries and exchange experiences in building and developing AI community.

On January 26, 2021, the Vietnamese Government issued the National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence Development. International cooperation is an important part to realize the goals in this strategy by 2030.

To enhance the connection between Vietnam and AI developing countries in the world, Vietnam has chosen Australia as the first partner. In August 2021, the Vietnam Australia Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Network (VAA) was launched.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, this is the first event of the AI community, opening up opportunities to connect activities in the field of computer science between Vietnam and Australia.

The Vietnam Australia AI Forum will bring together speakers from nearly 20 businesses, organizations, communities and universities such as VinAI Research Institute, Vin BigData, Quy Nhon AI Research and Application Center, Queensland AI Hub, Boab AI, Plexchange, Vietnam Silicon Valley (VSV), VietAI, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, AIC, Techfest, and Vietnam Innovation Center.

At the forum, more than 10 speakers representing AI experts from Australia and Vietnam will speak and discuss under the guidance of Dr. Bui The Duy - Deputy Minister of Science & Technology and Dr. Sue Keay – CEO of Queensland AI Hub.

In addition, leading AI experts from Vietnam and Australia will discuss how to develop and operate the Vietnam Australia Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Network, define a vision and steps for cooperation between the two countries.
