Nguyen Van Truc, deputy director of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, has received a warning for his violations while holding the Sagri general director post

Truc was found to have committed violations in the management and operation of the Saigon Agriculture Incorporated (Sagri) between August 2009 and February 2015. At the time, he also held the posts of deputy secretary of the Party Committee and member of the board of directors and member council of Sagri, the local media reported.

A warning was also issued to Ho Van Ngon, former deputy general director of Sagri from August 2013 to December 2018.

In addition, the Inspection Commission reprimanded Nguyen Thi Thu Ngoan, Sagri deputy general director and former controller; Nguyen Thi Thanh An, secretary of the Party cell at Sagri’s finance and accounting division and a controller of the company; Tong Ngoc Duong, former member of Sagri’s Party Committee and Sagri’s member council; and Le Thi Phuong, former member of Sagri’s Party Committee and former controller of the company.

As for Le Tan Hung, former Sagri general director, and Van Trong Dung, former chairman of Sagri’s member council, who had been arrested, the Inspection Commission of the HCMC Party Committee will propose disciplinary measures in line with the law after their indictments are issued.

The commission also asked the standing board of Sagri’s Party Committee to assume responsibility for their errors in management, inspection and supervision, allowing many Party members to commit serious violations.

According to the HCMC Inspectorate and the State Audit of Vietnam, Sagri had broken regulations on the management and use of land and finances and on the execution and transfer of projects over a long period. Sagri leaders over the years must take responsibility for these violations.

The Ministry of Public Security has so far filed legal proceedings against four Sagri executives: Hung; Dung; Nguyen Thanh My, former deputy head of the planning and investment division; and former Sagri chief accountant Nguyen Thi Thuy. They were all arrested for alleged mismanagement and misuse of State assets, causing losses and wastefulness. SGT
