This year, professional runners will take part in the 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km races, while amateurs will compete in 10km, 21km and 42km.

According to the event’s organising board, participants will have a wonderful experience on the coastal roads. They will run through coconut and pine groves, via beautiful garlic fields and will have to face challenges against wind, sunlight and slopes.

Runners will also have a chance to run past the beautiful relics of Ly Son, such as Cau Cave, An Hai Communal House and Dinh Tam Toa (temple for worshipping boats).

The event, which is co-organised by the Tiền Phong newspaper, the Vietnam Athletics Federation and the provincial Department of Culture and Sports, is expected to attract thousands of local and foreign athletes. — VNS
