Thu Hien to represent Vietnam at Miss Asia Pacific International
Thu Hien has been selected as the nation’s representative at the Miss Asia Pacific International 2019 beauty pageant which is set to take place in Pasay city, the Philippines, in October 10.
The 24-year-old girl stands at 1.70 metres tall.
She weighs 49kg with measurements of 80-60-90.
The beauty has plenty of experience in pageants, having finished in the Top 10 of The Face Vietnam 2016, winning a sub-prize at the Vietnam Supermodel 2018 contest, and winning the Miss Fashion prize whilst competing in Miss World Vietnam 2019.
Hien is expected to achieve a good result for Vietnam at the event thanks to her beauty, confidence, communication, and language skills.
The Miss Asia Pacific International pageant was first held in 1968 under the name Miss Asia Quest. It wasn’t until 1985 that the pageant changed its name to Miss Asia Pacific Quest in order to include beauties from Asia, Pacific, and America. In 2005, the event rebranded once again, becoming Miss Asia Pacific International and opening up to contestants from all across the globe.
Previous Vietnamese representatives in the contest have achieved some notable landmarks in the past. The 2018 event saw Huynh Thuy Vi win the first runner-up place in the national costume contest of the Miss Asia Pacific International pageant.
Truong Tung Lan finished among the Top 15 of Miss Asia Pacific International 2011, whilst Hoang Thu Thao was named in the Top 6 of the 2016 pageant.
The 2017 version saw Vuong Thanh Tuyen finish second in both the Darling of the Press and evening gown segments.
