Vietnam's Thanh Khoa wins World Miss University 2019 crown
Nguyen Thi Thanh Khoa, Vietnam’s representative at Miss World University 2019, was named as the winner of the beauty pageant during the competition’s grand final in the Republic of Korea on December 18.
The win marks the first time that a Vietnamese beauty has claimed the top position in the global university pageant. Previously the nation’s most successful entrant came in 1993 when Vietnamese competitor Ha Kieu Anh secured a Top 5 finish and went on to win the Miss Taejoon sub-title.
24-year-old Thanh Khoa stands at 1.77 metres tall with measurements of 82-64-92. She is currently a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Hutech) and is also employed as a model.
The win leaves the Vietnamese beauty emotional as she shares her joy with the other World Miss University 2019 contestants.
Thanh Khoa receives an award from the competition’s organising board.
The World Miss University pageant is held annually in the Republic of Korea with approximately 70 contestants from around the world taking part each year.

Upon arriving at the world pageant, Thanh Khoa brought with her luggage weighing a total of 80kg.
The beauty has a strong background of competing in pageants, including taking part in Miss Ao Dai Vietnam 2016.
She also won the Miss Hutech University 2019 crown.
Thanh Khoa finishes among the Top 15 of Miss World Vietnam 2019.
