Huynh Anh Khoi wins the Sunrise Sprint Vietnam

 

Beating more than 230 other domestic and foreign athletes, Khoi completed the race today, May 11, within one hour, nine minutes and 15 seconds, followed by Florian Deichmann with one hour, nine minutes and 43 seconds, and Romeo Perthuis with one hour, nine minutes and 59 seconds.

“I have tried my best and done what I had practiced. I am still so surprised at my result,” Khoi said after receiving his prize.

The shorter format Sunrise Sprint Vietnam consists of a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike race and a five-kilometer run.

The race this year attracted participants aged from 18 to 65.

Tran Quoc Tuan, a participant in Sunrise Sprint Vietnam, said he took part in the race with an aim to get a medal and to get ready for another race tomorrow, May 12, where he and his teammates will join together.

The race tomorrow will begin with a 1.9–kilometer ocean swim, followed by a 90–kilometer bike course, and finally a 21–kilometer run course. Triathletes with the best results will get 50 qualifying slots to the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France on September 7 and 8. SGT
