The week is a unique multi-day cinematic experience to bolster the cultural bonds between Denmark and Vietnam through six handpicked Danish films from talented Danish filmmakers: “The Hunt”, “Land of Mine”, “Across the Waters”, “Long Story Short”, “Key House Mirror”, and “A Hijacking”.

Cinema-goers will have the chance to discover Danish society through the thought-provoking films, with topics ranging from ethical post-war tensions between justice and vengeance and a man’s fight against false accusations of child abuse to the struggle for true love and the perfect relationship between young people.

“The Hunt”, with the Danish name “Jagten”, is a psychological film from 2012 directed by Thomas Vinterberg and starring Mads Mikkelsen.

The film is set in a small village in Denmark as Christmas is coming and where a man is isolated by those around him due to false claims of child sexual abuse.

The film was screened at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival and was a candidate for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, where Mads Mikkelsen was named Best Actor award for his role in the film.

It was also nominated at the 86th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and nominated at the 71st Golden Globe Awards.

The six Danish films will be screened separately at 7.30pm from July 4 to 11 at Galaxy Cinema in Da Nang, and at 7.30pm from July 5 to 10 at BHD Star Cineplex in Hue.

Free tickets can be picked up at the two cinemas. VN Economic Times
