On the afternoon of January 23, large capacity fishing ships arrived at Tho Quang fishing port, loaded with fresh seafood to serve the market on the occasion of the 2022 Lunar New Year.

Seafood traders from many provinces flocked to the wharf to buy seafood. The largest fishing port in the central region was busier than usual.

According to fishermen, at the end of the year, fishing ships will return to this fishing port day and night to bring seafood to the shore and celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Returning from a fishing trip in the Hoang Sa fishing grounds, Mr. Le Van Chau, 50, owner of a fishing boat from Quang Ngai province excitedly said: “During our 10-day trip we caught more than 10 tons of cobia, sold for about 700 million VND ($30,000). We earned net profit of over 200 million VND. This is our last trip of the lunar year 2021. We plan to go out to sea on the 12th day of the first lunar month 2022."
