Preliminary statistics show that, in 2021, Vietnam's tourism served about 40 million domestic tourists, down 29% year on year. Total revenue is only 180,000 billion VND, down 42%.

After the Government issued Resolution 128 on "Safely adapting, flexibly and effectively controlling the Covid-19 epidemic", at the end of November, the tourism industry began to welcome foreign tourists with a vaccine passport to five localities: Phu Quoc, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Quang Ninh.

In 2022, Vietnam's tourism industry expects to welcome about 65 million tourists (60 million domestic tourists, 5 million international tourists with vaccine passports), earning total revenue of about 400,000 billion VND.

More than 1,100 local key products under intellectual property protection

Key products, specific agricultural products of Vietnam are supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology and localities to protect intellectual property, said Phan Ngan Son, Deputy Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology.

Son said that the intellectual property development program for the period 2011 - 2020 has promoted the registration of intellectual property protection for businesses and people. The number of protection applications in Vietnam has increased by about 10% per year. There are more than 1,100 local key products, specific agricultural products... have been supported to protect intellectual property rights.

Currently, 63 localities across the country have issued documents regulating mechanisms to support enterprises, science and technology organizations, craft villages, associations and business households to protect, manage and exploit intellectual property.

Prime Minister to issue Power Planning VIII 

The Government has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with agencies and localities to urgently review and finalize National Power Planning 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045 for the Prime Minister to issue.

Previously, the National Power Planning VIII was reviewed and voted on by the Appraisal Council on October 3, 2021.

After receiving opinions from the members of the Appraisal Council, on October 8, the Ministry of Industry and Trade completed and submitted a report to the Prime Minister for approval of this plan.
