Hundreds of people are at risk living in deteriorated apartment buildings in Hanoi.

The HCM City Department of Construction has proposed changing current regulations on collection of apartment maintenance fees in an effort to handle disputes between apartment building investors and management boards.

The HCM City Fire Fighting and Prevention Police Department is recommending new policies to ensure safety at old apartment buildings that were built before the city’s fire safety regulations took effect in 2011.
